The ActiveBPEL(tm) engine (http://www.activebpel.org) is a Business
Process Management (BPM) runtime environment for executing process
definitions created to the Business Process Execution Language for Web
Services (BPEL) 1.1 spec. It is written in Java and released under the
GPL.
Version 2.0.0 M2 of the ActiveBPEL engine is now available at
http://www.activebpel.org/download/. The release notes are available at
http://www.activebpel.org/download/release_notes.php.
If you get an error message in the Tomcat console about the database
version being wrong, then you need to run one or more of the patch SQL
scripts found in projects/ddl.org.activebpel/ddl/patches. Run the
scripts in numerical order, starting at the patch after your current
database version number. Running these scripts will preserve all of the
data in the database.
A number of new features have been added to ActiveBPEL, including
direct invocation of another BPEL process running in the same engine,
the forEach, break, continue, and suspend activities, an upgrade to
Axis 1.2.1, new invoke handler support (see the online PDD docs), and
additional exception handling. The admin pages have been improved.
This release also includes all improvements and fixes from the previous
milesone release: a new pluggable expression language framework,
support for XQuery, JavaScript, and BSF languages, enhanced endpoint
mapping, URN mapping, and more.
As always, there are a number of other features and bug fixes included
in this release. See the release notes for details.
