db4o - database for objects - version 3.0

Carl Rosenberger   08 Oct 2004 08:13 GMTPage rating:

Hi all,

we are proud to announce version 3.0 of our object database
engine db4o.

The major new features in this release:
- Indexed fields dramatically enhance query performance.
- Special database-aware collections allow a lower memory
footprint and better performance than regular JDK collections
and they are easier to use.

About db4o
----------
db4o is the native Java and .NET object database for embedded
applications.  Object-oriented developers benefit from using
db4o because they need to write much less lines of code for
persistence. This results in less development cost, faster time
to market, a less complex code structure, that is easier to
maintain, reuse and refactor, as well as superb performance. Its
small footprint and its low administration requirements make db4o
ideal for embedded systems, such as mobile and medical devices,
integrated control systems or automobiles.

Features of db4o include ACID transactions, truly object-oriented
query-by-example, the S.O.D.A. object query API, indexed fields,
WeakReference object identity management, and automatic class schema
recognition. A free evaluation copy is available from the db4o
website:
http://www.db4o.com

Enjoy!

Best,
Carl
