The ActiveBPEL(tm) engine is a Business Process Management (BPM) runtime environment for executing process definitions created to the Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL) 1.1 spec. It is written in Java and released under the GPL.
Version 0.9.6 is now available at http://www.activebpel.org/download/. The release notes are available at http://www.activebpel.org/download/release_notes.php.
Release 0.9.6 adds persistent logging and process caching and includes some fixes to complex type handling and persistence. Repeating timer support was added to AeTimerService. The directory scanning code was moved to a new package. Some classes such as AeBpelEngine were refactored.
NOTE: if you use persistence, you will have to rebuild the database tables. The table formats have changed (and may continue to change for a while as the persistence code matures).
