[ANN] (Musical) Key Changer

Andy de Torres   17 Nov 2003 19:37 GMTPage rating:

I have just made available (for free) a key changing program at this URL:

http://members.cox.net/detorres/keychanger/KeyChangerReadme.html

You can use it to play a song (WAV, MP3, AIFF file, etc.) and change the
key in real-time, create a new file with the key changed, and more.

I wrote this to replace my hardware key changer from Pioneer.  It does a
much better job in terms of sound quality.  In the near future, I'll add
a simple vocal reduction feature as well.  I hope that other singers
will find it useful.

The applications are build around two Java Media Framework (JMF) Effects
which can also be used in other applications (though they are not yet
sufficiently documented): KeyChangeEffect and PitchShiftEffect.  I will
also publish the source for everything in the near future.

Sincerely,

Andrew de Torres
