JGoodies Forms layout system 1.0.3 released

Karsten Lentzsch   26 Jan 2004 08:57 GMTPage rating:

Hello,

I've released version 1.0.3 of the JGoodies Forms.
The Forms layout system helps you lay out and implement
elegant Swing panels quickly and consistently. It makes
simple things easy and the hard stuff possible.

The JGoodies Forms is open source and free of charge.
You can download it from the file sharing section at
https://forms.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList

This maintenance release contains new core classes,
adds methods, and comes with improved JavaDocs and
an extended tutorial and FAQ. The DefaultFormBuilder
has been moved from the extras to the core.

Also, the support for the Mac OS X has been improved
significantly: the DefaultComponentFactory has been
adjusted for the Aqua look&feel, the new MacLayoutStyle
describes the Aqua guide lines, and the ButtonBarBuilder
and ButtonBarFactory now honor a button order.

See the file RELEASE-NOTES.html for details.

I've refreshed the JGoodies Forms Demo too, and have
added an edition for the Mac OS X. Several examples
have been fine tuned, and the new examples demonstrate
the 1.0.3 support for the Mac. All demo editions are here:
https://forms.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=621

Many thanks to the customers of the JGoodies Swing Suite
and to Sun's Java Desktop team. It is only with their money
that I can offer and maintain this library for free.
I should appreciate if professional Forms users who
save time and money license the JGoodies Swing Suite;
this helps me finance my Java desktop activities. See
http://www.jgoodies.com/products/index.html

I hope the Forms layout system increases your productivity
and the quality of your multi-platform screen design.

Best regards,
Karsten Lentzsch
