JasperAssistant is a visual report designer for JasperReports, a
popular open-source reporting engine. It is built on top of the
Eclipse's plug-in architecture and its main goal is to help you create
JasperReports report definition files through an intuitive graphical
interface.

This release brings a new report compiler with the following features:
   * Is extremely fast for both single and batch report compilations
   * Provides a very precise error reporting. Errors are linked to
the report's
   structure so locating the source of a problem is easy.
   * Is integrated with Eclipse's build infrastructure.
   * Integrates itself with Java Projects thus allowing a parallel
java/report
   development.

The other exciting news is that JasperAssistant became the tool of
choice of
the JasperReports team ! From now on, all the samples coming with the
JasperReports distribution are designed and tested using our report
designer !
