JAME 6.0 has been released

Andrea Medeghini   02 Apr 2008 09:46 GMTPage rating:

JAME is a Java real-time multi-thread fractal platform which supports
images and animations. The core of JAME is the graphics engine which
supports layers, filters, effects and alpha composition. JAME can
creates Mandelbrot and Julia fractals and supports zoom, rotation and
colours shift. JAME supports batch rendering, caching and encoding of
rendered data in different formats; JAME supports also network
computation. JAME can be extended by plug-ins to provide new
fractals, formulas, filters, effects, encoders and more.

This is the list of main features implemented in JAME 6.0:
* JAME is a Java real-time multi-thread fractal graphics platform.
* JAME is an OSGi application based on Equinox from Eclipse project.
* JAME implements the fast approximation algorithm used in Xaos.
* JAME uses JAI and JMF technologies to encode images and animations.
* JAME uses Apache Derby database to store clips, profiles and jobs.
* JAME supports layers, group of layers, filters and effects.
* JAME supports network computation based on JXTA.
* JAME supports the DRF fractal (Distance Ratio Fractal).
* JAME supports many formulas and colouring algorithms.
* JAME supports orbit trap algorithms.
