The dbsql2xml project has announced its initial release. "dbsql2xml is Java tool for transforming a relational database into hierarchical XML data. It requires JRE 5.0, JDBC, and an SQL DBMS. dbsql2xml uses an XML document for mapping database tables and columns into elements of an XML tree."

The Launch4j project, a tool for wrapping Java apps as jars in window executables, has released version 2.0.RC with some major new features. " An Ant task was added for better build integration. The 2.x documentation was completed. Demo configuration files were converted to the new XML format and updated. Issues with relative paths in the configuration were fixed. The command line option that allowed 1.x import was removed. That function is now available from the GUI only. Minor bugfixes were made."

The Jaikoz project has announced the release of version 1.1 with a major feature enhancment. They write in, "This is a major release that now includes Music Brainz support! Jaikoz can calculate a (nearly) unique id for any track and this and any meta-data can be compared with the MusicBrainz Database and the meta-data updated from MusicBrainz. Jaikoz uses its automatch techniques to ensure the correct track is matched when multiple tracks are returned and your metadata is updated."
