Java Jabber client project Jeti has released version 0.6.4 with major feature changes. "Tabbed chat (currently only in chat, and not yet in groupchat), a spellcheck plugin, Roster Icons (jep 38), Jabber User Search (jep 55), automatic login on start, and resource binding instead of new windows."

The second release candidate for Spring 1.2 has been made available. "This release introduces one major new feature: support for JCA's Common Client Interface (CCI), including support for CCI local transactions. Furthermore, there are various minor enhancements all around. This release candidate is considered stable and recommended for development use. It is the last release candidate before 1.2 final."

Having problems with Safari after updating OS X to version 10.3.9? You're not alone, but Apple has posted a support document to help you out. "After updating to Mac OS X 10.3.9, some systems may have issues with Java applications and Java-enabled websites when using Safari. Safari may unexpectedly quit, and standalone Java applications may unexpectedly quit or not launch. You can perform a simple test to verify whether your computer is experiencing this issue. If it is, you will need to reinstall one or two software updates to resolve the issue."

The Hibernate project has released its first 3.0 maintenance release, version 3.0.1. "Hibernate 3.0.1 fixes minor issues and introduces interesting new HQL features (expressions in aggregation functions, various new projection options) as well as seamless J2EE/JTA container integration."

The Codehaus has released version 1.0 of Mule, its Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) messaging framework. "Mule is a highly scalable object broker and messaging framework that builds on the principals of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) architecture. This release provides a JCA Resource Adapter, IBM AS400 Data Queue support, PGP security and improved exception management. As well lots of minor enhancements and bug fixes."

The XINS API project has released version 1.2.0-beta1 with minor feature enhancements. "This release features improved error detection, logging, and recovery in the Server Framework. One exception class is now generated per error code, for ease-of-use in try-catch blocks. This version upgrades from HttpClient 3.0-rc1 to rc2, and includes various small improvements and bugfixes."

The YourKit Java Profiler project has released version 4.0.8, a major bug fix release. "NetBeans 4.1 Beta is now supported. The profiled application launched from IDEA 5.0-EAP (Irida) no longer erroneously uses the agent library embedded into IDEA, instead of using agent library from appropriate YourKit Java Profiler installation. .sh files (in samples directory and those that are generated by J2EE server integrations) are now compatible with Solaris's sh shell. If the appropriate Java installation is not found in the Windows registry, the native launcher yjp.exe tries to launch the profiler UI with 'javaw' in the current PATH."
