MP3, Ogg, and Wav jukebox player Jajuk has released version 0.3.3 with minor feature enhancements. " Twenty bugs were fixed. A new look and feel was added. A Catalan language pack was created. Linux menu shortcuts are supported using the Java installer. Refreshing is much faster. Cover caching was improved to save memory. History or collection corruption is handled better. Cover adaptation was improved. Many other comfort improvements were made."

The ObjectWeb Consortium has announced the release of version 6.3 of webserver plugins project Enhydra Director. "What's new in Director 6.3-1: new 'Rebalancing' mechanism - it supports web server (Director) clustering (parallelism), connector modules (jetty, tomcat, tomcat5.5) are updated to support new 'Rebalancing' mechanism, and documentation is updated."

Jason van Zyl has announced a technology preview from the Maven development team of Continuum 1.0. "This release offers users both an advance look at what's in Continuum 1.0 and a headstart in helping to shape the final Continuum release (currently slated for early August)." Continuum is a continous intergration server for building Java based projects supporting Maven 1 & 2, Ant, and shell scripts.

IBM alphaWorks has released Spatiotemporal Epidemiological Modeler, a Java based technology enabling spatiotemporal modeling of infectious agents across the United States and provides scientists and public health officials with a powerful tool for understanding, and potentially preventing, the spread of infectious diseases. The new STEM technology provides Geographic Information System (GIS) data for every county in the United States supplied by TIGER files.

The RIFE project has announced that it has released its first IDE plugin. They write in, "RIFE's first IDE plugin has been released for the X-develop IDE, it highlights the RIFE template tags in XML/HTML templates and provides a collection of smart code templates to quickly insert new tags. More features wil be added as the X-develop IDE's plugin interface matures."

The Netbeans project has announced that their mobility pack release candidate build is now available. New features include: a new visual design editor, end-to-end support for enterprise applications, improved configuration support, improved obfuscation configuration, and improved user attributes support. Note, "You must have NetBeans IDE 4.1 and the NetBeans Mobility Pack 4.1 installed before you can start J2ME MIDP development.

The Apache Maven 2.0 project has released a set of Ant tasks for dependency management. "Maven 2.0 now comes with a set of Ant tasks that can be used to utilise Maven's artifact handling features from within Ant. This includes: dependency management - including transitive dependencies, scope recognition and SNAPSHOT handling, artifact deployment - file and SSH based deployment to a Maven repository, and POM processing - for reading a Maven 2.0 pom.xml file."
