i have jdk1.5.0_06 in my machine and was using eclipse 3.1 as
IDE .since i wanted to install a newer version I dloaded and installed
eclipse 3.3 in a separate folder without uninstalling the orher
version.

is there a proven approach for Java to create a tool chain for I18N web
applications? Strings are stored in resource bundles, but is there a good tool
to sync the different translations? Also, what about HTML pages, which are
provided as an online help? Is there something how to ...

I just installed Jdk 1.6 update 4 and tried my first compilation. I
compiled something that previously compiled easily. However, with Jdk
1.6 I got the error:
SomeFile.java:45: cannot access java.lang.Object
