I would like to compile java class locally and transfer it automatically to the server. I can't find an Eclipse plugin to do that...anyone can help me? Is there a way to use more than one build path?!

I've been studying Java2 with the Beitel book Java How to Program, 5th Edition. It's a wonderful book for newbies, as I don't have much programming experience beyond HTML and Unix file management. I'm only about 100 pages into it at this point, but I'm really cruising along!

Has anyone had to upgrade from Tomcat 3.1 or 4.0 TO Tomcat 4.1.x or 5.0.x ONLY to get an IO EOFException when transferring a serialized object between an Applet running (JVM) 1.1.8 and servlet (JVM 1.4.0). I'm hoping that Java 2 is still maintaining object serialization backward

If I start Tomcat (4.1.27) outside of Eclipse, then access it, all is well. If I start from within Eclipse (3.0) using Sysdeo plugin, I get 'Unable to find javac compiler' when Tomcat tries to compile a JSP.
