"Learning Java 3rd Edition" - O'Reilly

Thread view:
Richard Phillips - 17 Oct 2006 13:39 GMT
Hello,

Does anyone else out there have a copy of this?
I'm working through my copy and have discovered that it has no chapter 11...
Pages 341-388 are just not there!

Anyone else able to check a copy out for me, to see if it's a common
problem?  I've emailed O'Reilly, no reply yet.

Cheers,
Richard.

Don't know if this helps but I have "Learning Java 2nd Edition". I can
send that chapter from that PDF, in the mean time. What is the chapter
heading?

Thanks,

I'm not sure how much difference there will be between editions, but it's
better than the the "hole" I have at the moment!
The chapter is called "Core Utilities".

No reply from O'Reilly yet, but the place I bought it from has issued a
refund, they said I can keep the book.  At least I have all the other
chapters  :-p
Very wierd problem, book looks perfect physically, but that chapter simply
hasn't been included when it was printed...

Cheers,
Richard.

Excellent, thanks very much!

Email address is good, I have a good spam filter so I am not overly worried
about making it public.
Might be an idea to let me know via this newsgroup when you have sent it
though, just incase...!

Cheers,
Richard.

OK, I have 15 CD's of books and for some reason all of my Java books did
not have an index to which CD's thy where on. Each CD has multiple
categories\languages\etc. I knew that I cut a CD recently because I had
all of them on my hard drive because I was using them at one point or
the other until now. Getting in to PHP to find work.

Any way I am send this file to you in WinRDR format and it is of two
parts. So will send two emails. Naturally you will need winRAR to
extract and rebuild. http://www.win-rar.com

The file names are:

O'Reilly - Learning Java 2nd Edition l2002.part1.rar
O'Reilly - Learning Java 2nd Edition l2002.part2.rar

There are newsgroups where people put books for downloads. Example:
alt.binaries.e-book.technical

Normally I would just buy the books but have been on the bench for a
long time. So I have to buy food first and can not afford them. This is
why I look at the usernet newsgroups.

Oh... it has the same topic for the chapter you mention.

Hello,

I've received both files, they extract automatically into a single chm file,
I see?  I opened that file and everything seems fine, the chapter I wanted
is chapter 10 in this edition, but it all looks good!

Thanks very much for your help  :)

Cheers,
Richard.
