Thread view:

I'd like to get a better grip on UML and was wondering if there is a
good, free UML modeller out there with tutorials (for Java).

thanks.

-- Here's another free one: "ArgoUML" - it's written in Java.

It has a commercial counterpart, Poseidon for UML from Gentleware in
Germany (<http://www.gentleware.com/>), for which there is a free
"community edition" (see <http://www.gentleware.com/products/>) that is
enhanced beyond the features of ArgoUML.

Japanese writing is quite beautiful, but completely inscrutable to me. Do
they have an English page?

Thanks.

I see that reverse engineering and "reverse compilation" (is that reverse
engineering from bytecodes?) are not available in the free edition (see
<URL: https://www.objectclub.jp/Jude/permission_e.html>).

This is true of Poseidon for UML, too.

Does anyone know of a free UML tool that _does_ provide reverse
engineering and / or round-trip, i.e., code (skeleton) generation?

That refers to any attempts to reverse engineer Jude itself.

According to the list of "Basic functions" Jude can both

- Generate Java source code from model.
- Import Java source files to create model.
