Hi,
I've installed JDK1.4.2_02 under WinXP, which includes Java
WebStart. When I try to start javaws by double-clicking, it
complains that no jre is found in the configuration file.
a) such a configuration file does not seem to exist. How is it
supposed to be created? Where does it sit (I looked in the
directory tree for the user settings and the JDK)?
b) Any other way of telling WebStart where the jre sits?
Best Regards,
Sebastian

To answer my own question: Under Windows, it seems to be necessary
to install a PUBLIC jre in order to be able to use WebStart. Oh, well.

Java Web Start is PART of a public JRE.
