wincvs delete a directory

Is there a way to remove a directory or directory tree from CVS after
you have removed all its files?

I dont think so. cvs never deletes directories (files, they are moved in a
"attic" directory). But you can prune empty directories when you check out.
Directories exist on the server, but nobody sees them...
Alternatively, you can delete them on the server, but i am not sure that you
will still be able to check-out old versions (when the directory was still
around).

Check out subversions , that addresses this concern. It is much more
matured than CVS.
