eclipse help not working

Thread view:
Buch - 09 Feb 2004 11:19 GMT
Hello.
I erased eclipse 2.1.2 and reinstalled it to another drive,
on w2kpro system.
Now I can't get help working.
When I invoke help, window appears, but without contetnt.
I erased also all registry entries pointing to old directory,
but without results.
Any workarounds?

Thanks

if you use firewall on it might be a cause of  such behavior

I have encountered the same problem.  When I try to run the command line
parameters to invoke the stand alone help server, I get a java exception.
In fact, the window echos back some weird combination of forward and back
slashes in the path.

Command:

java -classpath c:\Program Files\eclipse\plugins\
org.eclipse.help.base_3.0.1\helpbase.jar
org.eclipse.help.standalone.Infocenter -command start -eclipsehome c:\
Program Files\eclipse -port 8081

Result:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Files\eclipse\
plugins\org/eclipse/help/base_3/0/1\helpbase/jar
