Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition, Version 1.4.2 - Installation Problems

not sure if this is the right place to ask but here goes.

Trying to install the above but continually gets stuck at 8% of installation
and does nothing more.

I am running Windows ME. My PC meets all the other documented requirements.

Any clues / help?

There is an issue with the SDK_&_NetBeans bundle.
Just get the SDK (offline installer) alone.
If you want NetBeans you can fetch and install it after the SDK.
