windows becoming undocked in NetBeans

Thread view:
Andy Fish - 19 Nov 2003 12:30 GMT
Hi,

I am using the latest NetBeans 3.5 in MDI mode.

However, two windows seem to have become un-mdi and now float outside in
their own right. These are the HTTP monitor and search results. They got
undocked at different times, and I'm sure it wasn't anything I did.

Has anyone else seen this problem? does anyone know how to re-dock them so
they appear as MDI child windows again?

many thanks

Andy

There's a menu option under Window.
It's something like frame resides in 1) IDE or 2) separate Window.
Then you get to figure out where in the IDE you want it.

This will be all _much_ easier in NetBeans 3.6 which you can get from
development
builds if you like living on the edge;)

thanks, that certainly looks like the right option.

I have tried switching from MDI to SDI and back again under
tools/options/system. This seemed to rein in the windows OK in but after a
while they escape again.

time will tell whether this one fixes it permanently

cheers

You can try docking the floating frames through the menu:

Window->Frame Resides->In IDE Desktop

And then re-locate it at a specific location, for example:
Window->Doc View Into->Source Editor->Right
