Using MySql with eclipse?

Thread view:
KAB - 07 Nov 2003 15:39 GMT
I am running eclipse version 2.1.1 on Windows XP along with
J2sdk1.4.2_02 with tomcat version 5.0.14 and sysdeo tomcat launcher
plugin version 21, i need suggestions regarding how to use Mysql with
eclipse...one obvious method outlined by quite a few tutorials is to
use mysql with jboss and integrating jboss into eclipse however the
jboss plugin recommended in these tutorials is no longer available for
free. Is there any other way i could interface MySql with eclipse?

I'm not sure what you mean with "interface", you access your mysql through
JDBC.
What plugin are you referring to?

I've personally tested the following plugins:
JFaceDBc 2.1.0
DbEdit 1.0.0
However, this is not specific to JBoss.

My config is;
Windows XP Home
Eclipse 2.1.1
Tomcat 4.1.18
JFaceDBc 2.1.0
DbEdit 1.0.0
Sysdeo 2.2.0
mySQL 4.0.16

Hi, if by any chance you are refering to EASIE plugin from Genuitec, please
go and visit : http://www.myeclipseide.com/
The plugin is no-longer freely available, but this is a fairly cheap
solution based on EASIE plugin.

I use DB Plugin: *net.java.sqlexplorer* on Eclipse 3.0 and now 3.1. I
use it for MySQL and HSQLDB. IT does all that I ask it and has nice
Eclipse perspective.
