netbeans eclipse look and feel

Thread view:
soni29 - 24 Jul 2003 21:16 GMT
hi,
is there anyway to change the look and feel of netbeans or eclipse?  i
currently use eclipse, looks fine, but was thinking of also trying out
netbeans, but i seems to have the metal look to it, is there a way to
change that, some setting somewhere?

Thank you.

Since eclipse uses the native widgetry, it'll reflect
any changes in the OS appearance, e. g. via skinning.

NetBeans allows to install custom look&feels.
In file <netbeans-dir>\bin you can edit file ide.cfg
and add a parameter for your favorite l&f.

You can find a short introduction how to install my
free Plastic l&fs (contributed by Moazom Raja), see
http://devnull.unixville.com/~moazam/jgoodies1.html

And you can find a couple of free other l&fs at
www.javootoo.com. I've seen several people using
the Skin l&f with NetBeans too.

Hope this helps,
