FYI, I did look at google and I did not find "answers given previously".
Not everyone is as clever as you. But I did find several references to the
Apache Tom Cat server. Is this the best one? I don't know.. and I don't
expect you to tell me... Maybe someone with not as many issues as you could
tell me...

Read the spec (no kidding) - it's not too formal and explains about
everything you'll want to know. Get tomcat and look at the examples.

I'm not sure if you found what you're looking for, but here are the
list of books I'm currently using.
Java Server Pages from Scratch by Que.
This book covers a lot of ground and teaches by developing a
working project.
Java How to Program by Deitel
Covers Object Oriented Design with UML and Design Patterns, JDBC,
Servlets and JSP, while teaching the Java Language.
