net beans problem on OX 10.4.8

Hey--

I have downloaded Netbeans onto my iBook. I see the icon on my
desktop, but when I click on it, the application opens and then closes
really quickly. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem?

Try starting the app from a terminal window so you can see any error
messages.
