newbie: which web server to use?

I would like to programme in Java (JDBC, JSP, Servlets) in Windows XP and
Linux.
Could you tell me please which web server I should use, I mean which is the
most popular? Is Microsoft IIS popular for Java applications in Windows?

I recommend Apache Tomcat for both Linux and WinXP for that use.
