Can anyone recommend a plug-in for Eclipse that does code-checking and
code-assist for JSPs?

Hi Robbie

You can find an overview of many plugin pages under the community page
of eclipse.org

I personally like the eclipse plugin page of Urbaan

I worked a little bit with the Lomboz plugin. It works but has some
special behaviors. Check it out:

Tomi
