Eclipse & Visual Editor

Thread view:
Joe - 08 Sep 2006 11:33 GMT
Hi @all,

I am trying to install the Visual-Editor-Plugin under Eclipse. So I
downloaded the current Eclipse Release 3.2 & the Visual Editor Runtime.
I copied the files in the folders "plugins" & "features" to the same
subfolders in the Eclipse directory.

My stupid Question is: How can I create a Gui-Class or start the Visual
Editor? (I already took a close look to "File - New" - Menu, but I found
nothing new...)

Do I have to install some additional stuff?

Thanks
Joe

That is probably the problem. The visual editor depends on the graphical
editor framwork and eclipse modelling framework plug-ins. You can check the
installation by selecting Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration.
I'm guessing it will show some problems.

Downloading and extracting plugins is not the best way to install plug-ins.
It is best to have Eclipse download and install them for you using Help >
Software Updates > Find & Install. It will handle any dependencies for you.
The visual editor is under the Callisto discovery site.
