Uninstall Eclipse 2.1 on Win2k?

Thread view:
Matt O'Toole - 01 Jun 2005 05:40 GMT
I have Eclipse 2.1 installed on Win2k Pro and I'd like to remove it.  I've
forgotten how it was installed, and it's not in the Windows Add/Remove Programs.
I can't find anything in the Eclipse help files about it.  Should I just delete
the C:\eclipse directory, or what?

You can find any kays in register file (regedit.exe) end delete keys of
eclipse too.

Eclipse is normally installed by unzipping the distribution file (a zip
file). AFAIK, Eclipse has always offered their distribution as a zip
file; I've never encountered an .EXE or .MSI installer.
So you can delete the Eclipse installation directory, however it /might/
contain your workspace directory with your projects and source code.
Maybe you want to rescue this workspace directory before deleting the rest.

Thanks, I just couldn't remember.

Are there any third party plugins installed you want to keep???  Look in
the plugins dir to find them

It is best to actually install your plugins in an extension location
outside of the Eclipse directory. This makes upgrading eclipse version
much easier. See
