Java Client Woes

Thread view:

I play an online game called Dragon Realms. For various reasons, I need to
use the Java client they provide, but I can't get it to work.  I have the
full 15 meg installation of Java Virtual Machine on my Windows XP system.
When I go to the Dragon Realms website and click a particular link, their
Java client is supposed to be invoked.  Needless to say, this doesn't
happen.

I tried turning off the Popup Blocker with no result.  Then the  tech
support guy told me to set the Internet Options on my web browser (IE6( to
the default setting.  Then I tried setting it manually to enable Java
scripts, Active Scripting and Active X.  Nothing worked. A little later, I
realized that my Norton Antivirus was probably blocking the script and
disabled the NAV script blocking.  No luck.

I can't think of what else to do.  I know there's some solid technical
reason I'm not having results, that it's not just bad voodoo. But I'm not a
very technical person and I've already expended my limited know how.  Does
anyone here have an idea what the elusive issue could be? The Sinutronics
tech support guy just gave up on the problem.

I would just try uninstalling and reinstalling the Java VM. make sure
you use the newest one from java.sun.com.
