Difference between Rational Rose enterprise edition and Rational XDE developer plus for java

Thread view:

Hi Friends,

I have few set of questions as mentioned below.

What is the difference between Rational Rose enterprise edition &
Rational XDE developer plus for java?.

Which one is superset and subset?.

Does intended users of XDE are developers?

Does intended users of rational rose enterprise edition are architects?

OR just logical separation for .net and java?

Thanks in advance,
Anant Patil

Hi,

XDE is Eclipse 2.1 plus some modeling (and others) plugins.

I think there are neither nor.

> Does intended users of XDE are developers?
Yes and analysts etc. XDE offers all that Rose offers plus some more,
but is also bigger. Also the layout engine seems to be much better in
Rose.

Afaik, there is meanwhile a successor for XDE on the market, which uses
Eclipse 3 as its base and where the Modeling plugin is supposed be
rewritten to use Eclipse 3 features. Also the rendering engine is
supposed to be much better.
