eclipse and regular expression searching

Thread view:

I am having a problem performing regular expression searches in
eclipse. When I search for ^ I would expect the search to bring me to
the first beginning of line. Also a number of other special characters
such as . and $ do not work. Can anyone tell me if I need to change an
option in preferences or if this is a bug.

thanks

Use ^. instead. Anyway, that's not a very useful search... ;-)

Dunno, they work just fine for me in 3.0.1, and I don't remember
ever changing any pref related to find/replace. Care to give an example
of what precise search doesn't match which precise text?

(You _did_ enable the regexp checkbox in the search window of course,
didn't you? Just making sure. :-) )
