Problem with JRE

Thread view:
Robert.Kaleta@gmail.com - 01 Sep 2006 13:55 GMT
Hello all. I don't know if it's the right place to write it, but I
looked over the net and found nothing so I hope you can help me. I have
a problem with Java Runtime Enviroment. Every time I go on a page where
it's needed, after shuting down the browser (I use Firefox, but I
checked that it happeneds on IE or Opera too), my PC restarts. The same
thing happens when I tried to uninstall it. What could be the problem?
I'll add that on my old PC (i bought a new one about 2 months ago) with
the same Win Xp Pro I'm using now it wasn't happening at all. Is it the
fault of new mainboard or processor?

Thatnk you for any reply

Sounds like a hardware or firmware problem. Since it is only a few
months old I would do one of the following: send it back to get another
one, have it repaired for free or get you money back.

* Delete the java JRE directory manually
* Run a Registry Cleaner ... Goole if you don't have one and download a
free version (or a 30 days trial commercial version -
http://www.tweaknow.com/RegCleaner.html ...which I just did and it looks
a polished one!)
* Download the latest JRE and reinstall

If after that you still have problem with all the browsers then I might
start thinking about hardware. It just seems unlikely to me that a
hardware problem would manifest itself only with browsers and java JRE
... but I guess one never knows.

I have a switch in my apartment that doesn't do anything.  Every once
in a while I turn it on and off.  On and off.  On and off.  One day I
got a call from a woman in France who said "Cut it out!"
