comm package

How to install javax.comm in Linux.I foolowed all the instructions as
per sun.I am using javax.comm for linux and jdk1.5.I am getting the
error "package javax.comm not found " during compilation.I placed the
.so files in /usr/lib as well as in lib of jre.Can anyone please help.

I did not place the fle in ext directory of jre.

put them in the ext directories, at least that is where they go in
Windows.
