Opening consecutive new windows with window.open freezes IE

Thread view:

Been having a problem with opening consecutive windows with window.open in
IE!

After several attempts at opening windows with java links, eventually now
only 5/6 times, the following opening attempt freezes showing just a blank
window with no apparent activity. Example - www.newgenerationwebsites.com
going to 'showcase' you can click on example sites and after just a handful,
the windows cease opening properly.

Do I have settings configured incorrectly or is the code faulty/missing
something in the java window open lines, ie stack reset, etc.

Using Firefox, this doesn't happen and works well!

Help, please!

try and download IE7 Beta. Shouldn't happen

Good idea - trouble is it happens like clock work after the 4th window now!!

It seems to be a deteriorating problem!

I put together a website for a small company a year ago and after a while
each pc in the company one by one developed a worsening case of the
inability to open the windows. you could only open the windows you wanted by
closing down ALL IE windows and starting again. The work round was to rid
the software of Java window.open's and use html links - didn't look as good
though with the toolbars.

Again, this problem doesn't show up in Firefox (yes, I know another point on
the scoreboard for all those MS haters), but since the majority still use
IE, I'd like it to work properly.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Is there a solution?

Tony
