NewBie to JSP/Servlets stuff, Help?

Thread view:

Hello,
I need to develop a Web Server based application overnight. From what I
understood, JSP/Servlets is the way to go (my platform is Linux based).
My first question is, is the choice ofJSP/Servlets the right thing?
Next, what is the best way to start in this? What would be the best IDE
to start off with, tutorial, books on the topics, examples etc.? Any
help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. More so on the setup
side and being able to compile a simple application to start off.
Thanks a lot
