Hi. I use this great, free scrabble site, www.isc.ro. The owner has written
a stand-alone java application that runs on various platforms to connect to
his scrabble server.
My problem is that often the text in the scrabble program either disappears
or freezes until I repeatedly resize the window.
Unfortunately for me, the author is too busy to reply to most e-mails.
Oh, I forgot to say that I'm running it on a win XP box, and apparently
lots of other people using it under XP DON'T have this problem.
Any suggestions? I've noticed that it gets worse if I open a website that
heavily uses java.
Thanks!
Max

Use software that *is* supported.

So what's different about your machine?
1. different video card and driver. Check with manufacturer for
driver update. Try changing video card and see if that makes problem
go away. The problem might be buggy video drivers.
2. you don't have as much RAM as others. Developer machines are
swimming in RAM. Programs don't get properly tested in low-RAM
situations.
3. Your machine has some bad connections. Do such problem happen with
any other software? If so, your machine could do with an overhaul,
cleaning all contacts and treating them with Cramolin and Stabilant.

Hey, thanks a lot Roedy! It was either the new video card driver
or defragging my windows drive.
