Hello,
I am using Firefox 2 on a Mac OS X. From our servers, a third party
has created a page with a Java applet. When we visit this page, we get
this security warning
---BEGIN WARNING MESSAGE---
Java Plug-in Security Warning:
Do you want to install and run signed applet distributed by "Third
Party Name"?
Publisher authenticity verified by "Thawte Consulting cc".
The security certificate was issued by a company that is trusted.
The security certificate has not expired and is still valid.
Caution: "Third party name" asserts that this content is safe. You
should only install/view this content if you trust "Third Party name"
to make that asssertion.
---END WARNING MESSAGE---
My question is, is there anything we can do to our applet on our
servers to prevent this message from appearing?

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do about this warning. Your third party
applet apparently uses functions that Java won't allow except with a signed
applet. Both Firefox and IE warn users that they're about to run a signed
applet that has access to priveliged functions and gives them the option to
back out if they want. There is an option to always accept, which means the
warning will only be displayed the first time, and thereafter, will not be
displayed. My advice would be to indicate on the website that the message
may occur and explain what to do to respond to it.
