I have an applet and I want to be able to change its parameters with a
button or a link from a HTML page.

How can I do it?

For example:

<param name="earthquake" value="25">

On the clientside (preferable), JavaScript.  See
the JavaScript experts on comp.lang.javascript* for that one.

On the serverside (if client side scripting is not available)
JSP (ASP, PHP..).
