Compiler can't find javax.swing.fileChooser

Thread view:
John Yager - 17 Mar 2004 21:32 GMT
Hello,

I'm trying to compile a program that was in the latest Core Java
Technologies Tech Tips newsletter from Sun.  It's trying to import the
following:

import java.io.File;
import java.awt.*;
import javax.swing.*;
import javax.swing.fileChooser.*;

but gives me a "package javax.swing.fileChooser does not exist" error.

I don't understand why it can import the javax.swing.* okay, but not
fileChooser.

I've downloaded the latest SDK from Sun, but no help.

Does anyone have an idea why it can't find the package?

Thanks for any help.

   Oh, drat: *I'm* going to kick *my*self.  Ahem: "Try
filechooser, with a lower-case c."

   (Advice to self: RTFM *before* posting ...)

Thanks, Eric.  I noticed my mistake about 5 seconds after I posted the
message.  Grrr!
