SSL error in client java program

Thread view:
Bill - 16 Mar 2004 16:26 GMT
Hi,

I am getting a java exception:  javax.net.ssl.SSLException: untrusted server
cert chain

while trying to access, e.g. https://www.verisign.com

I am using jdk 1.3 and jsse 1.0.3.

I do not quite understand why this is not working, as I am able to access it
from web browser without any problem.

What is the name of the keystore file?  Where does it have to reside?

Pls help.

Thanks,
Bill

There is a missing link in your chain. For info, start here:

http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/security1.2/summary/files.html

However, if when you say "client java program" you mean that you intend
to distribute your program, the above will not help you as you would
need to update the cacerts file on each of your client computers.
