How to close a HTML page

Thread view:
Steven Malcolm - 03 Mar 2004 07:28 GMT
I asked this question i the HTML groups but no one could help.

What I need is a way to close a HTML form, I have already tried to use code
like

   <form>
       <input type="button" value="Close Window" onClick="self.close()">
   </form>

But this brings another little form saying that the form is trying to close
the window.

What I need is a button, but oes not ask if you want to close the for, just
closes.

TIA

Really??  Do you mean
a) Nobody knew how.
b) They were all telling you it was
not possible, but you thought you
would keep asking until you got the
'right answer'.
c) They were all so busy laughing at
you, and abusing you for daring to
attempt such an iditic thing, that
they forgot to tell you it was not
possible.

What's the group?  What's the msg ID?

This I gotta see..

And BTW - What the heck is this supposed
to have to do with Java.  You do realise
that Java and JavaScript are not the same
language, don't you?

[ And no. there is not a snowballs chance
in hell that either of them can do what
you want without the users active
participation. ]

post this is comp.lang.javascript instead. Java and javascript are different
languages for different things. In this case you need javaSCRIPT and not
java.

I was going to reply, but thought they covered it well enough in alt.html.
Apparently he doesn't think so.

;-)  Glad you came back with that,
as I did not expect the OP to do so.

Cannot see them for the dust since there
was a mention of JS, expect they hitailled
it over to the JS group to be told yet again.

And, damnit!  They will _keep_ asking
until we all get it _right_!!
