Controlling PDF file through the Web

Thread view:
KENNETH LAM - 19 Mar 2008 01:37 GMT
Dear all,

I am new in java. I would like to write a servlet to allow first user
controlling the PDF file movement after the second user read the same PDF on
the web (for example: control next page/pervious page). Because I am no idea
to do that. Or which library can I use? Please advice. Thanks a lot.

That sounds pretty tricky.  For the possible tools see

You might find it easier to simply use Adobe Acrobat at the client and
download them a file.

They will have to do this anyway if they use a browser different from
IE, or a reader different from Adobes.

Google has a facility to view PDFs as HTML, so you might try doing
something similar - convert the PDF page by page to HTML with links
forwards/backwards.

As for how to convert, I can't help you there, sorry. Search engines are
your friends.
