Open Source Java Quicksilver for Windows/Linux

Thread view:
IMYojimbo - 30 Dec 2007 10:59 GMT
Hello fellow developers!

I would like to invite you to join the development of the open source
JQuicksilver for Windows and Linux.

short description:
JQuicksilver is a computer utility software program distributed
freely. It is developed using the Java language, and targeted to run
on both Linux and Windows platforms.
It allows users to use the keyboard to rapidly perform tasks such as
launching applications, manipulating files and data, running scripts
or sending e-mail. Although it is a complex application, it is
centered around a very simple three-panel interface, called the
"command window": the user performs complex tasks using simple,
configurable key-combinations.

Hello spammer.  Please cease your multi-posted
ramblings on your software.  c.l.j.announce is most
appropriate for your message.

Y'know, I caught a lot of grief for treating this guy as a spammer.  I
apologized for my behavior.  Now the guy is repeating the exact same
announcement after just a few days.  In my opinion he is exploiting this
group.  Instead of engaging in a discussion with us about his project, he got
very aggrieved at my tone, as did some others on this group - OK, I understand
that.  But I truly wish this guy would discuss things here in this discussion
group instead of using it as an advertising venue.

I don't care how good the project is, I do not appreciate the misuse of this
group.

I appreciate your untiring efforts to rid the c.l.j.* groups of
spam and spammers, or at least to refute their idiocy and
"fight the (never-ending) tide".  I vaguely recall intending to
tear strips off this latest moron, but something (most probably
your own comments) made me move on to other matters.

>..I apologized for my behavior.

I make no apologies, and intend to make none.

If this latest spammer can justify their actions, I
will leave them be, but no more - should they be
so sensitive they cannot handle and deflect a little
critical evaluation of their efforts, then perhaps this
is not the forum(s) for them.

Right there with you.

Consider that a challenge, spammer.  Time to discuss
your promotional strategy.

Nor do I (care/appreciate).
