I see I am going to have to buy this book, right after I finish
reading my other java books (JSPs and JavaBeans). In the meantime
could you give more detail please?

As for the reason of spurious wake-ups, I'll have to find my copy of
JCIP, I lent it out and now I have to track it down. I'll post the
answer once I read it.
