Java1.1 and SSL certs

Thread view:

Hello All,

Sorry if this question has been posted before but I couldnt find an
answer. I have a java applet which is written using java 1.1. I want
to be able to parse ssl certificates. How can I do that? I ideally
dont want to use external jars but if there is a stream-lined jar out
there that allows ssl cert parsing then it will be ok as downloading
jar files to client machine will be an issue if jar is too big.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

hi,

you may have a look at
http://jce.iaik.tugraz.at/products/10_ME-jce/index.php. it can parse X.509
certificates and runs with Java 1.1.
it is free for non-commercial use. commercial licenses are available.
maybe http://jce.iaik.tugraz.at/products/11_ME-iSaSiLk/index.php is also of
interest for you.

Thanks Karl,

This feature is required for a commercial software. Are there any free
solutions out there? Mind you, I dont want to do ssl all I want to be
able to do is to get subject name, expiry date etc from a pem
certificate..

Thanks
