What SSL Certificate Management Applications do people use?

Thread view:
David - 19 Jan 2004 13:08 GMT
I am reviewing the processes my company uses to create/renew SSL
certificates for our servers. We currently use the IBM Certificate
Manager that comes with WebSphere (IBM HTTP Server) but wanted to know
if anyone can recommend any other applications for creation/renewal of
SSL certs?

Thanks

I've used the crude perl script that comes with OpenSSL, and the fancy
and way expensive Verisign OnSite which is a forerunner of their current
MPKI product.  In between these there's a package called PyCA (www.pyca.de)
which is probably what I'd use if I wanted to run a small in-house CA.

OpenCA might be useful to have a look at:

Dear David-

After trying scripts and OpenSSL, IBM plus other Java based utilities,
etc...
For a Windows/Linux environment, the best so far seems to be-Xca
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xca

Templates, full extension choice, easy GUI, open source using OpenSSL.
Unlimited key size
Documentation here-
http://xca.sourceforge.net/
