GlobalSign (former BelSign) acceptance

Thread view:

Anyone has used this certificate?
Is it still equally accepted as default trusted by NN and Sun Java (IE
still does, I see it in its store).
I have a client (meaning a human client) who for some legal issues would
prefer an EU based authority against the Verisign-Thawte consortium.

all that really matters is:
1. is its root cert in the browsers you want to use
2. is its root cert in the default .cacerts

This is exactly what my question is about :-)

Are there any certificate issuing authorities beside Verisign/Thawte,
who are included by default in IE and all currently existing wanna-bes
(NN, Opera, Konqueror, Safari)?

if you want to check there are a list of them at
http://mindprod.com/certificate.html

Keep in mind there are more TYPES of certificate than you can shake a
stick at.  Code signing certs are rare.  Most common are certs for
https.
