I would not normally answer 'IDE questions' but your recent
reply on another thread interested me enough to dive in on
this occasion.
My experience with Eclipse (and plug-ins) is limited, but I
got the idea that the 'minimal' Eclipse was all you needed
to start, then plug-ins could be installed *as required*.
That is part of the elegance of the Eclipse plug-ins.

I prefer Eclipse WTP because it has basic Wizards for basic Java components.
It saves time and you don't need to start everything from scratch. Usually I
install
also JBoss IDE plugins.
Of course investingh 53 $ MyEclipse Prof isn't much if you are coding with
Java for living :)

You've piqued my curiosity. Something about the way you say that makes
me suspect that you have an aversion to IDEs. Is this true? If so, why?

Eclipse Europa is about half that size and it is great!
