Is it possible using <span> tag to access this information?  I know
<span> sort of builds a function out of your html code, but is it
possible to use it outside of the file? Thanks. :)

Of what information do you speak?

> I know <span> sort of builds a function out of your html [sic] code,

That represents a misapprehension.  HTML is markup, not code, and the <span>
tag does nothing like "build[ing] a function".

Is it possible to use what, outside of what file, to what purpose?

You started a thread referring to a non-existent antecedent, which on the face
of it is off topic for a Java newsgroup.  I, for one, am completely unable to
tell what you're talking about, but it sure doesn't sound like Java.

Provide some context, at least enough for people to know about what you're
speaking.  If you have a coding issue, provide a Simple, Self-Contained,
Correct (Compilable) Example, or SSCCE, that demonstrates the issue.
physci.org and mindprod.com both have excellent articles on the subject.  If
you have a knowledge question, provide more information about the subject so
we have a clue about your needs.
