Mp3 Splitting Library

Thread view:
frikk - 18 Dec 2006 04:48 GMT
I just wish for a simple library for splitting MP3 files.  I don't want
to decode or encode wavs, etc.  Something like MP3Splt but in a Java
Library would be ideal.  I have scoured the web for this, but I can't
seem to find anything. Am I missing something? Is there an existing
Library I can use indirectly to split an existing mp3 file without
decoding? In the past I have relied on shell calls to MP3Splt, but this
is sloppy, hard to debug, and not cross platform.

Thanks!

Hi,

Maybe JLayer can be used for this:

Thank you for the suggestion. I have looked at JLayer, but cannot find
anything that would suite me. There is probably the needed
functionality somewhere in there, but to find it I think I'll have to
dive deep into the documentation and get more advanced. I may try this
route as a last resort.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Blaine

Maybe someone has experience with JLayer ( I do not ) - how hard would
it be to load up an mp3 and simply 'remove' part of the file from the
mp3 object and save it?

I can't even find a decent tutorial on how to use JLayer.  Why is that?
