Another example of Twisted the troll, more reason why he should just be ignored
Joe Attardi - 03 Dec 2006 06:55 GMT http://groups-beta.google.com/group/comp.text.tex/browse_thread/thread/814dca01f af56429/80585d528a53dd21
The name is different ("Mark Mephinasony") but it's the same Google Groups account. He mentions a problem he's having with some software, then someone suggests he files a bug with their bug tracker. Watch how quickly Twisted/Mark/whoever quickly turns it into a vicious argument.
All the more reason we should all just ignore him and his further posts, then hopefully he will go away.
Twisted - 03 Dec 2006 07:25 GMT Joe Attardi tries to start a pure attack thread:

Well, well, what have we here? Did you really think I wouldn't be paying attention for something like this? Of course it's stooping pretty low to create a whole new thread to attack someone (and attacking them directly in the subject line, of course), even if it's also bloody predictable.
Go play in traffic.

> Of course it's stooping > pretty low to create a whole new thread to attack someone (and > attacking them directly in the subject line, of course) It's not an attack when it is just the truth. That thread is a perfect example of your trollish ways. Somebody made a perfectly reasonable suggestion to submit a bug report, and you blew it way out of proportion.

What does this prove? That you're sadly not unique in being an a.shole? (One of you would be bad enough, but apparently there are millions of you...)

sh.t! I'm surrounded by a.sholes! *runs*

I am not.

You knew he would respond; you ought to have had him in your killfile already, like sensible folk.

You mischaracterize me.

If you dig harder you will stumble onto another name and some rather sad stories, including an FAQ from 1996.
You will also find that Twisted has always denied any relation to that other one. Because Twisted is by his own words not that other one, Twisted can't possibly be affected if we talk for a second about that other one.
Only that there is not much to gain from talking about that other one, now 30 years old, person. I am not qualified to do a medical diagnosis, but in my layman opinion that other one needs or needed to talk to a doctor who is qualified. And because we are apparently talking about a medical issue here, I don't see the point or fun in poking him some more with a dirty stick, as someone put it in that icon thread. If you see the background its not fun any more and a discussion in a programming group can't work as a therapy. That was at least my conclusion after I found the material about that other one.

I thought you'd like died or something? I guess not? Please go and correct that oversight now.

Wesley Hall - 04 Dec 2006 00:21 GMT > All the more reason we should all just ignore him and his further > posts, then hopefully he will go away. Joe,
It should be clear by now that this guy is either a prolific troll or a prolific argumentative idiot (which, when considered, are actually the same thing). However, targeting a post at him and then replying to him twice doesn't really constitute 'ignoring him and his further posts' in my book.
Just add him to your killfile and remove all temptation, he is thriving on the attention and you are giving it to him.
To requote an often used usenet meme, "Please don't feed the trolls".

I just came here with a couple of simple questions and got jumped on for the privilege, and now I'm finding a dozen more turdpile insult posts a day requiring explanations of my side of the story and why none of it is true. What a waste of time! All because I actually did a little Googling and solved one of the problems I had unassisted by them, apparently...

[quoted text clipped - 10 lines] > Googling and solved one of the problems I had unassisted by them, > apparently... If one person tells you your approach (to problems, to conversations, or to relationships, etc..) is not working, maybe its just them. If the majority of people who talk to you about it tell you that its not working, its probably you. And, if that happens many times, it is most definatly twisted.

Whatever bad things you are apparently trying to insinuate about me are untrue.
(Anyone noticed that this bogus "limit" only affects me if I've very recently followed up to foobarbazqux or PofN? Interesting, eh?)

Interesting, eh?) Actually, I've noticed the limit affect you after you've very recently gone trolling.
Twisted - 06 Dec 2006 15:33 GMT > Actually, I've noticed the limit affect you after you've very recently > [insult deleted] Running out of steam? That was a short and mild one. (And as untrue as ever, of course.)
